In Memory of Michael Turnerwho passed away this week.
I felt like honoring him with a tribute..
After Stan Winston, George Carlin, and now Michael Turner, June 2008 is becoming one very dark month..
one of the biggest influences on me and my art in the late 90's, He made his name on Witchblade and Witchblade/Tomb Raider, going on to launch is own series Fathom in '98, eventually creating and fronting Aspen Comics in '04.
I was truly shocked about this, Turner was an original. He had a style that was so recognizable. I fell in love with his work in my formative years, and i hope that his influence can still be seen in my own style, because i learned so much from him. I know i can see it in others, and it will truly live forever thru them..

For those who like music, here is a band that does a little of everything.
Found this nice βgenius instrumental bandβ I came across on YouTube called "Enigma.β You can listen to them on YouTube. It is great music to listen to when drawing/writing, or whatever it might be that has to do with art. Give it a chance and see how you like. Listening to classic music can help too for a nice state of mind. It is one of my secrets used for writing and drawing. Figured I would let you in on it as well as others. Not really a secret, but you would be surprised what ideas might come out, in the listening.

You tell me what is inappropriate about the quote, "art of Music." You know, this site does support a hide button for hiding comment(s) if you haven't already figured that out. Music + writing, drawing, painting, etc. ='s wise ideas and new ones. If not then O' well. I thought I did a nice gesture by supporting decent Music for the ear. And so if it be that I am wrong and proven upon otherwise, I never writ, and no Man ever liked Music. I say no more.

Well I am sorry. I mostly look at pictures not words because my eyes are bad as it is. However, I did try to make out your artists comment and I am sorry for that person. Maybe by the link I gave you some music might calm you down who knows. But if you think about it, it's not that bad after all, but I am sorry I did not read the artists comment or the text. I am a visual person more.

So a countless amount of people die every minute from varying diseases, acts of violence and other serious trauma's, but three celebrities pass away and all of a sudden June 2008 is a dark month? Good god...

It's 3 people who have touched my life and inspired me.
the other countless people have not, but they will be remembered by those close to them

Says the "artist" that uses an dead man's image, claims it as a memorial (Yet has no evidence that what he states is true), and racks up notoriety with little more then a half ass'ed attempt at his own supposed trade.

Stan Winston, George Carlin,Michael Turner, they will all be sorely missed. Satn minston was like my idol, he worked on the terminator movies, jurassic park and iron man.

I just learned about his passing from a friend today. I feel equally crushed. The comic world has lost one far too soon.

I fell in love with the entire witchblade series. The style was so sensual and unique it inspired a lot of my own idea for drawing.
