In Memory of Michael Turnerwho passed away this week.
I felt like honoring him with a tribute..
After Stan Winston, George Carlin, and now Michael Turner, June 2008 is becoming one very dark month..
one of the biggest influences on me and my art in the late 90's, He made his name on Witchblade and Witchblade/Tomb Raider, going on to launch is own series Fathom in '98, eventually creating and fronting Aspen Comics in '04.
I was truly shocked about this, Turner was an original. He had a style that was so recognizable. I fell in love with his work in my formative years, and i hope that his influence can still be seen in my own style, because i learned so much from him. I know i can see it in others, and it will truly live forever thru them..

Alas, I've only read Witchblade as my old friend owns many of em... Wish I had some of my own. Style was ever so amazing.

This has a ton of feeling to it, and it expresses it just the way it should...
You said, you always wanted to draw Witchblade, and you did well... but tis sad, that the reason for this is her creators death...
i think, she would exactly feel the way you pictured here... Great tribute man... i usually dont use wallpapers, but i will sure download this and pass it on to friends.

A very heartwarming and yet sad tribute, indeed... I'm sure that he's watching over your shoulder right at this moment... and smiling when he sees that he won't be forgotten in the world he left behind...
I'm sorry... That's all I can say.. I honestly didn't know who he was, but I understand that he has touched many lives...

Man I love this. very nice. Im a HUGE Turner fan. I have ALL His works. all the way back to Shi-blade and Ballistic, way before Witchbade. The whole comic book community has taken a big loss with his passing.

I am truly saddened by this death. I loved Fathom and have recently become very enthralled with Witchblade. I've seen a great deal of his talent as of late and was shocked to hear of his passing. Thank you for letting me know in such a gentle way.
