There's a few problems with this story when it comes to genetics. Fluttershy*BigMac was four generations before Eden, which means in an ideal 50% from each parent no incest situation, Eden is only 6.75% Fluttershy or Big Mac. The change that she is so close to either is impossibility small after that many generations. I know, this is for humans, but there are about 7 million combinations of genes from two parents. If we say that only 10% of those have traits that would let them pass as either Fluttershy or Big Mac, and we assume every generation has a child that is a Fluttershy and a child that is a Big Mac, they would be less then 10% related by Eden's parents' generation, so we will skip calling it incest there. For the correct genes to have been passed that far, if would be 10%(10%(10%(10%(7000000)))) chance, or something around the lines of 1/700000000 assuming generous luck and some rounding. That would never happen. See my issue? And if someone could help explain it to me so it doesn't seem as impossible, I'd love to have more faith in the story, so feel free.

Usually one shouldn't apply science or logic to fantasy, but I'll give you my best answer. Yes the possibility of Eden inheriting the traits of Fluttershy and Big Mac should be quite small, but let's take this into consideration by bloodline from the Apple family. We know that almost anypony from the Apples have some strength to them and that's most likely genetic. Also Eden is an earth pony, apply those genetics to her race and it's a higher chance she's naturally strong. Now for her personality, we don't know about Fluttershy's family of they are just as shy or kind as her, but both her and Big Mac are shy and kind. Usually personality isn't as genetic as other traits are, but there's a chance it runs through the family in at least one pony on every generation. You get what I'm saying?
