Shipping is the term used by the fans, for relations in fan fic's. For example, someone has Rarity dating spike, that's considered shipping rarity and spike.
NOW, mothers sometimes get into a mode of trying to find, and force their daughters into relationships, marriages and such... wanting them to settle down, make grand children, etc.
HENCE... Nightmare Rarity is looking at her daughter and Alter, imagining them as a couple, waiting for the first true kiss... thinking about how she can help them get together... aka an I ship it face.
