Description Bureau of Fire Protection (Filipino: Kawanihan ng Pagtatanggol sa Sunog) is an agency under the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) responsible for implementing national policies related to firefighting and fire prevention as well as implementation of the Philippine Fire Code. DILG Oversees the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

BFP Frontline Units:

Engine-  It is the primary unit that responds to any call. It carries variety of tools, ALS and BLS equipment, hose, and more.

Aerial Ladder- It is a 75-foot Ladder truck with bucket and water nozzle. It carries variety of tools, ALS and BLS equipment, technical rescue equipment, extrication tools and more. It has capability to support ground units during large fires and High-Rise fire.

Hook and Ladder-  This Unit Carries Rescue Tools, Extrication Tools, ALS Equipment. This Unit can reach the height of 100 Feet. It is advantageous due to its maneuverability in narrow streets in the Philippines.
