Pyroic Elemental
* Has an alternate form of sustenance.
Pyroic elementals are one of the three humanoid elemental types -- the others being teloic and voltaic -- come in various different colors -- all of orange, green, purple, blue, white, and red, as well as a rare black variant. The fire they are made of is magical, much like most parts of any other monster. Being made of fire, they are not solid but rather gas/plasma -- however they have a magic field forming a semi-solid surface. Culture-wise, they mostly remain silent, and often dress in human-standard clothing. Along with colors, masculine and feminine shape variations are also present, like in half of the humanoid monster types. Pyroic elementals have an indefinite lifespan, much like other elemental types, and adults are usually 8-10 feet tall. No pyroic elementals with fonts have been attested.
Diabolic
These red humanoids resemble the traditional depiction of demons. They have the longest definite lifespans of any monster type, living 600-800 years. Adults are usually 8-9 feet tall. They are extremely agile. Diabolics talk in a distorted but still understandable voice. Diabolics use fire magic like the rest of the pyroic monster types. Culture-wise, they pretty much all live in a single community in the City of Hotland, and usually wear either nothing or variations on ancient human outfits. They've assimilated strongly into the common monster culture following the war. Masculine and feminine shape variants are present but the differences are minor. No diabolics with fonts have been attested.
Oni
The first of two types named in the game (or at least on the Wiki as an NPC representing this type). They are the Diabolics' much bulkier cousins, which got reduced to a very small population during the war and have only partially recovered - only 95 individuals are present as of 1428. Thus, oni culture has mostly vanished in favor of the common monster culture. They are quite strong and tough, matching their appearance quite well. They usually wear variations on modern human clothing, or simplifications thereof. They have a lifespan of around 70-90, about average for both humans and monsters as a whole. 48 current onis have fonts, which is around consistent with the 51% percentage previously observed by the Century Gothic before the war. Adults are around 6-10 feet tall.
Boss Monster
The second type named in the game, they became relevant all the way back in the 4th century SR when the Ozijika family of boss monster became the rulers of the Yaraha Hesan. They have an indefinite lifespan, which is unique in the way it works in that they only age when they have living parents or children. The oldest attested monster, Alavari Ozijika, is a boss monster. Boss Monsters resemble variations on goats, with all the associated color variations. A masculine and feminine variation exist. With living parents or children, they tend to live around 100-140 years. Around 4% of boss monsters have fonts. All boss monsters alive currently come from one or more of 24 different families. Adults are usually 9-11 feet tall. They don't have that much of a clothing standard, but more than type 66 monsters.
Placeholder
This type of monster, bearing the marginally unexciting name "placeholders", are actually pyroic (but also kinda konaic but let's ignore that part for now). Two variations of placeholder beyond color (a wide range of colors have been attested) exist - one with a crossed pattern on the torso and one with six dots (there are four on the sprite for Ficus Licker due to not having enough pixels). Placeholders have the youngest mature age for their total lifespan -- they're mature at 14 months and live for 70-90 years. Thus, as of 1428, they have become one of the most dominant monster types. Placeholders have very little variation outside of color and that dot/cross variation (which is treated as a masculine/feminine variation by most placeholders -- crosses usually use he/they/it pronouns and dots use she/they/it) 1.6% of placeholders have fonts, and they are usually geometric fonts. Adult placeholders are usually 5 feet and 8-10 inches. They usually wear no clothing.
