I can't imagine being so close to the Detroit river as a mermaid, knowing that for tonight, you'll have to be stuck in your hotel room. Maybe she hasn't noticed that her feet are growing scales and turning into fins.

This one is kind of a vent piece - I've been feeling stuck in the same kind of position, sans the scales and toe webs, but the feeling of wanting a rougher life that you want to immerse yourself in and wanting to become something strange and sleek kind of hits as a trans woman.
