This is amazing!!! reminds me very much of quest for glory 1 when the hero is facing a monster. i love your style, i could easily see these works in D&D books or similar rpgs. i cant stop taking peeks at it. this is great.

wicked cyclops. You really made the club look like its heavy. The cyclops looks super-hardcore, but that warrior is totally going to kick his ass. I can tell he's a seasoned veteran. Mainly cuz he's not crapping his pants and running the other direction. You did a really good job on the greenery in the background too.

Great lot of detail there. Specially in the background... He looks really mad. Cool little bats too. How is that little guy meant to go up against him?

Oo, great image! Lovely natural colours and the expression on the Cyclops' face is priceless. I would love to know what tools you used to paint, what settings, etc.
I'm on the lookout for new peeps to devwatch, I think I'd like to add you!

..Well I used a wacom tablet and Photoshops paint tool. With the tablet the harder you press the thicker your lines get, so it adds an organic feel to your strokes. I generally start with a sketch, add a base tone and try to work on one or two layers so as not to complicate things. Low opacity settings on the brush help build you tones gradually while higher settings get you there quicker... I use the alt button to select colors from the art after I get the base colors in and adjust them light or darker accordingly. This tutorial below really opened my eyes to the flexibility of digital art...

Thanks! That sounds pretty much what I do too when painting digitally. I like it when artists openly talk about the methods they use- it makes the process seem a lot less mysterious and you almost always learn something.
Speaking of which, thanks for the tut link!

I'd have to agree I like this one the best out of your gallery, it's got lots of colour and detail. I really like the huge tree/log he's using, and he has such an evil eye.. gives me memories of Gohma in zelda.

Wonderful piece once again! I really love the enviroment... flawless tech and colors... gives it a faint dreamlike feel. The knight and the cyclop are schweeet as well. The ground shaking smash by the cyclops club is a nice touch and "effect"! To sum it up:
!

Thanks Yo! So you can really feel the ground shaking smash? I tried a slight motion blur on it to give it that moving to a sudden stop feel. All your comments are encouraging!

I love this. That cyclops looks pretty scary, but that little knight looks like he could handle himself. I also love the expression on the cyclop's face. "You kids get off the damn lawn!"
