Patchwhisker is a character from our Warrior Cats DND game, Starfall! He's sort of a self-insert, but is also one of the main npcs in the game.

Backstory:
Patchwhisker was raised in Thunderclan by his mother Appleflight, who treated him very poorly. He would try to impress her with hunting and fighting, but it was never enough. One day he decided to fight a badger, hoping that at least that would make her proud. However, he got badly injured, which left him scarred and his mother looking more disappointed than ever. He couldn't stand it any longer, and once he was well enough he left Thunderclan in the middle of the night.
He first went to Shadowclan by the name of Patchpelt (Just in case anyone recognised him). He was accepted, but he was so miserable that most mornings he could barely even get out for patrols. Shadowclan called him lazy, and kicked him out within a week. He trekked over to Windclan (under a new name, Patchtail) and did the same thing. This time he was kicked out even sooner.
Feeling hopeless, he went to try Riverclan (Patchwhisker this time) and met Morningstar on the border. He told her flat out that he wouldn't be of much use, and that if they were to let him in he'd only be a burden to them. Morningstar decided to let him stay, and while most of Riverclan just ignores him, some do whisper about the strange cat who sleeps in their camp but never joins patrols.
Patchwhisker often visits Thunderclan in secret. Since his escape, his mother has had three more kits, and he watches over them to make sure they're alright. He accidentally led them outside of Windclan once, and they got trapped by snakes. A trio of cats came to rescue them by the name Stormwatcher, Shellspots and Duckfeather. Patchwhisker's been keeping an eye on them ever since.

Starfall

One night the stars fell, one in particular seemed to land near the mountains. The leaders of the clans sent Stormwatcher, Shellspots, Duckfeather, Wildmask, and Crowtooth to recover this star. Along the way, Patchwhisker followed them, wanting to see this star himself but too afraid to join the gathering where they were chosen. He was caught by them and terrified that they recognised him from their clans. But he kept up, and when they found the star on the top of the mountain it revealed themself as Windstar, the first leader of Windclan.

When they returned, Crowtooth and Duckfeather were exiled from Shadowclan. Duckfeather went to Riverclan, but Crowtooth decided to become a rogue, where she and Patchwhisker spend most of their time chatting. Patchwhisker has also taken care of guarding the Stars the group bring back, making sure nobody finds them while they're away.
