41B Spongeguard on Duty
"You know for the longest time ever I thought this episode was in season 2, and after watching season 2 for this, I was like, where’s Spongeguard on Duty???? But it turned out. It was season 3 which for some reason, kind of surprised me. This is a CODE Blue episode because of another crackdown at common lifeguard stereotypes. I HATE how lifeguards are often referred to as hunks that everyone drools over and that all they seem to do is strut their stuff on the beach when in reality they kinda… oh I dunno… have to guard people’s lives!? The townspeople though… kinda irritated me. The way they just ignored Spongebob and Patrick when they were clearly drowning was pretty mean spirited, I mean… yeah I know Spongebob was annoying, but to let him DROWN for it was kinda going too far… Other than that, this episode is very enjoyable and a great deconstruction of lifeguard stereotypes."SEASON ONE. vengefulvulpine.deviantart.com…
