Some early concept art for Kraid. This shows Kraid would've had a much darker skin tone, and as you can see by the model, it looks like he would've been more slim and fit. With bigger arms, and more muscular body, making him look more nimble.But as we saw in the game, they decided to just go with his classic green look.
