You were right to leave it, the visual balance is better this way; he'll just have to learn to use the darn sword with the other hand. It is a wonderful render, detailed, well composed with a just a dash of colour used to great effect. .

Did you make the model yourself? If not, this stinks on ice.

I've said this many times. I don't take credits for the modelling part.

Then you basically didn't do anything other than port the model from the game in some 3D software, add particles and render it? This is stupid. It would be like me taking that your work, adjusting the colors and never mention your name when I post it. When you haven't made anything, you should always, under any deviation, be specific that you didn't make anything. What the description here should be:
I downloaded this textured model, added particles and masturbated for a few hours until rendering was finished.

Then it should be basically the same exact thing about fanarts, where people reproduce an existing character adding their personal touch with style and colors.
What I did here was posing the character first, editing his textures and meshes, setting materials and lighs for the render, importing the final product into Photoshop, adding a background manually, particles, adjusted other minor stuff and such. As you can see I specifically said that everything belongs to NT and Capcom (unless you can't recognize a copyright symbol), doing this it's like stating that I don't own the original resource, for this reason your comment here is just as stupid (not to mention useless), even considering your very funny line at the end

When some dude colors another dude's picture (which is essentially the same), they always say "I didn't draw this, this dude over there did". You cannot compare this to a fan art. Fan art is a work an artist made from scratch because they were inspired to create by the thing they're making a fan art of. If you made the model, and everything else, you could compare this to a fanart. Stop deluding yourself. You didn't do anything. If you want accurate comparison, compare your work to tracing. That's what it is.

People who draw existing characters are still drawing stuff that belong to other people, so it is essentially the same thing. What maybe you don't understand is that I didn't just rip the model as it is, placed it in a 3D program, rendered and scratched my head until it was finished and posted it here. I edited the model, created the pose and the expression, played around in 3DS Max to create a proper scene with lights and materials and finished the product in Phtoshop adding my personal touch, so saying that I didn't do anything it isn't true, because it's basically a fanart as well. Yes, I didn't make the model myself, but as I said I put the copyright in the description and this means that using the character as mine wasn't my intention, it never is. So yeah, you're just losing your precious time here. Mind your own business and you will be happier, because I am not a thief and I'm not using copyrighted content for my own profit. And this is my last reply to you, so don't even bother to keep arguing on this.

So, I can just insult you now and you won't reply?
You have the artistic integrity of a dead rat, you don't listen to valid critique, you refuse to give proper credit and overall you live under the illusion that you create something. Which you don't. You stink and you probably stink as a person.

Because it would mirror everything, including his hair and jacket I want to try to mirror just the sword, though.

I have to say i definitely wouldn't hate the new DMC so much if Dante was like this from the start

Verahnika In reply to okamaka [2013-05-07 21:20:09 +0000 UTC]
Honestly, hating a game because of the way a character looks doesn't make much sense to me... but everyone is free to have a different opinion, of course!
DmC is an alternative story, with alternative characters and such. I like the original Dante (and DMC) and I like him with white hair, but the one from this reboot looks great even with black hair imo... and the game is great.
