Description This is a handout I made for my Savage Tide campaign.  It's a "map" depicting layers of the Abyss important to the campaign (or ruled by demon lords who are important to the campaign).  The scan quality wasn't very good and I did a little crude cleaning of a few places before uploading it...

The layers shown and their associated demon lords are:

1:  Pazunia, the Plane (or Plain?) of Portals.  Ruled by Pazuzu, sort of, this is the layer most people start on.  An enormous plain scarred with pits and chasms that lead to other layers.  That's the River Styx winding its way across the layer.  From there we jump down to...
72:  Darklight.  Its ruler, Noticula the Undeniable, is one of Vanthus Vanderboren's favorite demon lords, along with her brother Socothbenoth.  Next is...
73:  The Wells of Darkness.  Ahazu the Seizer rules this plane, and imprisoned on it is Shami-Amourae, one of the four primal succubi and Demogorgon's onetime lover.  Speaking of Demogorgon, the next one is...
88:  Abysm, the Gaping Maw.  Demogorgon, Prince of Demons, rules this layer.  As Demogorgon is the architect of the Savage Tide, of course his layer is prominently displayed.  The raging oceans of Abysm lead to the lightless depths of...
89:  Shadowsea.  Dagon, one of the incalculably ancient obyrith lords and one of Demogorgon's advisors, rules this layer.  Some ways below we arrive at...
113:  Thanatos.  This layer is ruled by Orcus, demon lord of undeath and one of Demogorgon's greatest foes.  Far below his charnel domain is...
471:  Androlynne.  The angelic hosts have partially invaded this layer, where Pale Night trapped an entire generation of eladrin children to serve as her personal prey.  Countless celestials have fought and died in their defense, much to the satisfaction of their tormentor.  Still farther below is...
503:  Torremor.  Another layer ruled by Pazuzu, the obyrith lord who first tempted Vanthus to traffic with demons.  Below his demesne of crags and spires is...
558:  The Flesh Forges.  Here waits Dwiergus, the Chrysalis Prince, perhaps the most ancient of obyriths.  He is the tutor of Pale Night.  Below his hideously alive layer is...
570:  Shendilavri.  Malcanthet, Demogorgon's lover and the current Queen of Succubi, rules here.  Below Shendilavri is another layer consumed with forbidden desire...
597:  Goranthis.  Socothbenoth the Persuader, this layer's ruler, is the brother of Noticula and one of Vanthus's demonic patrons.  A short ways further down is...
600:  The Endless Maze.  Although Baphomet, demon prince of minotaurs, rules most of this layer, Pale Night's palace of bone is hidden here as well.  Pale Night, the obyrith who bore Demogorgon, is one of the most enigmatic and vile of obyriths.  Finally, near the hidden foundation of the Abyss, we find...
663:  Zionyn.  Swarming with demonic vermin, these caverns are the only part of the Abyss still ruled by Obox-ob, the dethroned first Prince of Demons.  His hate for Demogorgon surpasses even that of Orcus.

And there you have it!

Interesting and wonderfully done map, but Pale Night isn't confimed Demogorgon's mother. She is the mother of a number of demon lords,  Graz'zt, Lupercio, Zivorgian, and Vucarik, although some text do suggest the whole Tana'rii race is descended from Pale Night. Demogorgons two mothers are Shothotugg(aparently the same as Azathoth ) and Prukal, although Prukal is very suspiciously remiscent of Pale Night, as Prukal is said to be Night(Prukal is described as the physical dome of the night sky) and Darkness personified....
