The picture made me happy, then the description made me do a little sad!flail, averaging out to a pleasant level of melancholy. Which I think kind of sums up how I feel about {...} in a nutshell.

Mmh, I wonder in what a location the sign in the background could hang? It says 'maximum occupancy 72/12 (?)', right next to the door but the place looks like a drive-in - so places on a parking lot or people inside?
Alright. Lightning? I don't know how you do it, Tessa, but the glow of the TV is astounding (probably because it's that realistic bright-baby-blue dissolving a bit the lines of what is on the screen) and I always think of the lamp in the background as a lamp and not spot differently coloured than the wall. Shading? The actual light source must come from the right above of the room and thus left from [...] because his right face side is shadowed while the shadow under his left eye falls to his nose. What confuses me are the highlights on his right arm, are those from the TV or an other light source?
Shading for the colours? Brilliant. You 'see' how [...] falls inward on height of his belly as it is more in shadow/darker in colour and the shadows on his face give him a dynamic, alive aura. Well, I can continue that I see his face was even before death quite angular and the bones naturally got to stand out even more when his cheeks fell in. Since I'm 'at' his head, I love his hairdo even more without the hairtufts, the 'peaking' hairline really does it for me.
Say, is it of importance that you drew his iris full? You draw them for all characters as black 'spots' most of the time, they get only so big if the characters are in great emotional stress (this is what I at least observed). Besides, as a zombie, his iris are currently always fully drawn. This is interesting.
I can't tell how much I love this picture of [...], as well as all the other times he appeared as his alive self in the comic. The contrast of his cheerful smile here to the worried look when he mets Lee in his (own)/their mind opens a view into his vulnerable sides he hasn't shown yet as an undead.
