Description Jeannete sighed & caught a glimpse of her battered body in the window. Lying in a hospital bed covered in bandages was not the ideal way to start a vacation, but it always seemed as though nothing ever went right for her. Sure, she was the daughter of a famous explorer, but did that even matter? The answer was no, it didn't. It wasn't anything she'd done. She'd done nothing in her life. Nothing worthwhile, at least.
Pulling up outside the hospital, Daniel grinned, glancing up to the room to where he knew Jeannete Cartier was resting. Whipping out his cellphone, he said softly, "Estoy aqui. Traiga a salir." Stuffing the device back in his pocket, he smirked & sat back in the driver's seat, closing his eyes & chuckling softly.
When the nurse came in, Jeanette sat up abruptly, speaking rapid French. "Donne-moi le camp d'ici, c'est inutile, je vais bien." The nurse just stared at her dumbly, having no idea what she said. After a second with no response, she turned her head to the nurse, eyes blazing with anger. "Get me out of here!" Seeing the fury in the young woman's eyes, the nurse nodded, running out.
Watching the door, Daniel checked his watch & smiled as Jeannete strolled out of the hospital. "Young lady!" he called out the window, masking his voice as best he could. "Do you need a ride?" "No." she replied. Well, that was lovely. He was here. Her life sucked. She didn't stop walking, not looking at the cab. Even if it was a normal taxi, she would still ignore it. She had nowhere to go, nowhere to have to drive to. Stepping out of the car, Daniel twirled a throwing knife on his index finger, catching it tightly. "I insist." he growled.
She stopped, her eyes like ice. What did people have against her? Anything? Or was it all just because of her father? "Do you know what I do for a living?" "Not really," he said, striding towards her, "And I don't really care. I am simply an agent of God's will." Hurling the blade at Jeannete, he smirked as it buried in her arm & sent a small river of blood running down her arm. Pulling another knife off his vest, he grabbed her by the hair, raising the edge to her throat. "Now, where were we?" he said, grinning & chuckling to himself.
Desperate to escape the man's grip, Jeannete thrashed violently in his arms until one of her elbows was free, sinking it into his gut & backing away from him. Quickly crossing the distance between the woman & himself, Daniel spun & leaped into the air, connecting his boot with her jaw with a  satisfying crunch. Transitioning from the high kick, he squatted down low & pummeled her chest & midsection with a flurry of rapid-fire rabbit punches. Flying back & nursing her bruised cheek, Jeannete whipped out her pistol & opened fire, her aim shaky in her swimming vision. "Get away from me!" she screamed, stumbling away from the assassin & throwing herself into an alley.
Shambling down the alleyway, Jeannete jumped behind a doorway & cocked her pistol, slowing her breathing as the heavy clomp of the man's boots approached. "Come on out, Ms. Cartier. It would be futile to resist the will of God." he called. Stepping out & aiming for his chest, she growled, "I think God has other plans for now." Keeping her eyes locked on the man, she squeezed the trigger...And dropped the weapon, backpedaling with horror at the sound of the soul-shredding click. Grinning wickedly, the man pulled out another throwing knife & said, "Out of bullets, are we?" Ducking under the man's weapon as he hurled it, Jeannete realized the diversion too late as the man tackled her to the ground & drew his machete. "Haz las paces con Dios, para el dia de tu muerte ha llegado." he snarled, lifting the blade high for one fatal stab.
Suddenly, the man dropped his weapon & cried out in pain as an expanding circle of red appeared in his arm, dripping blood onto the pavement. Shoving the assassin off of her, Jeannete looked around for her savior & spotted the nurse from earlier at the end of the alley, a smoking pistol clasped in her trembling hands. "Corre!" she shouted. "Ahora es tu oportunidad!" Pulling herself to her feet, Jeannete dashed out of the alleyway & into the hospital parking lot, quickly locating & diving into her car. Revving the engine, she peeled away as she watched the assassin grab the terrified nurse & rake his blade across her throat.
Picking himself up off the hard pavement, Daniel clutched his arm wound tightly, swiping at Jeannete as she dashed towards the hospital parking lot. "No...NO...NO!!!" he shouted, sprinting towards the terrified nurse & grabbing her by the hair. "You traitorous puta!" he roared. "Conocer a Dios por sus pecados." Daniel snarled, pressing the edge of the machete's blade to the frightened woman's neck. "Que el tenga misericordia de su cuerpo sin alma." Raking the weapon across her throat, he grinned menacingly as he dropped the nurse's lifeless body to the ground. No need to worry. This woman was smart, but not enough to best him. He was Daniel Perez, the man who had never failed an assassination. Still smiling, he leaned against the hospital's wall & watched as the dying sun sank into the horizon. Tomorrow was a new day...The day he would brutally end Jeannete Cartier.
