Description
As a long timer reader of Gunnerkrigg Court comic, I wanted to present a fanart piece that the author, Tom Siddell, can personally enjoy and to demonstrate how inspiring and, ya know, unique story he shared with millions. I ain't counting and I don't think they are either.
From me to you guys, and also with all your advice from the rough draft, it wouldn't be so complete!--Yay on the DD!Ā

At the end I messed around with the hue, and it looks fantastic in fall colors ;_; I couldnt' do it though, I wanted it green so Carver would stand out instead of blend in.Ā

I've been trying to find the time to create some fan art for Tom for the longest time now. I love his comic!
And you did a wonderful job on this. It's incredibly well done and looks great even as a stand-alone illustration.

Thats a possibility. lol. The gunnerkrigg comic explains the wolf/treebody, but I looked up Ysengrin as a name and its a russian story of a wolf with no tail. I think.

I like to handdraw my grass, but cause of this pic I think I'll do some grass studies :< flimsy lines look flimsy.

I know its been a while. xD Not sketching or doodling so much as just observing and studying stuff by eye alone. Still have to draw things to make sure I understand things or test or just practice though. This one was a great big chunk for looking at trees and bushes.Ā

exactly that, practice practice practice. Oh and lots of long walks in the woods til you fall into hopelessness and realization that a map and flashlight are good things to bring.Ā

Remind yourself to paint what you enjoy, and challenge yourself at a whim. I'm still working to paint like them fancy renaissance paintings.Ā
