The alleyway Lanei Tavish had set up shop in was, as alleyways go, pretty nice. It lacked a persistent smell of piss and rot and only had a few pieces of trash scattered across the ground. It was lit by a pair of flickering neon lights which lent a certain ambience to the whole mood.
A lithe and petite blue Nautolan, Lanei was clad in a short green skirt, an aqua hoddie with her initials and face emblazoned on it and her signature hacking goggles and gloves. In her hands, she held a shiny Harddrive puling with blue light. Skipping along, she spied a doorway to set up in and made her way to it. Placing the hardware gingerly on the ground, Lanei cracked her neck and chirped.
"Right, time to work," With a wide smile she yanked off her hoody and threw it on the stairs to serve as a blanket. As continued to strip, a heavy set of footsteps came from behind.
"Alright, I think we've lost them but they're searching the- why the shab are you getting naked?"
Lanei glanced back at her companion and partner, Jemini Linaki. A tall athletic Mandalorian, Jemini was clad from head to toe in sturdy (and entirely to practical in Lanei's opinion) in a set of sturdy armour known as beskar'gam. Coloured blue and gold the armour had several scrapes and signs of battle damage, including several fresh burns. Holstering her pistols, she removed her helmet as Lanei did her skirt.
"Because I work better this way? Duh." Lanei responded as she removed the last of her clothes. Stretching up on her toes, arms overhead she smiled. "That's better. Let me just get limbered up."
Jemini, pretty face framed by her bright blue hair, sputtered and hissed, "We have half of the bloody neighbourhood gunning for us and you want to LIMBER UP IN THE BUFF?!?"
"Shhhhhh!" Lanei shushed as she twisted from side to side. "Half the bloody neighbourhood is looking for us, remember?"
"I can't even," Letting out a groan of frustration Jemini turned to watch the alleyway mouth and growled. "Fine but oya, eh?"
"Oya?" Lanei asked as she performed a quick lunge.
Jemini glared back at her, "Mandoa for let's go, Lan'ika. So let's go, eh?"
Lanei flopped down on her hoody in front of the artefact and breathed in and out, centring herself. Much as she loved having fun and being goofy, she did need to focus on this. While not the hardest piece of tech she'd ever cracked, this gang had still sprung for fairly decent hardware. A Chesire cat grin spread across her face as she lowered her hacking goggles across her sparkling silver eyes.
"Right then," She chirped cracking her fingers energetically. "Shall we begin?"
"Oh for shab's sake!" Jemini cursed, ducking under a blaster bolt and drawing her gun. "The ossick eaters found us!" Leaping to better cover she fired into the mouth of the alleyway at the oncoming thugs.
"Don't worry Jemini! Lanei is on the job!" The hacker called as, fingers plucking at invisible strings of ones and zeros she began.
