I'm sorry! It's hard to find the icons that make the cache generated failure, because I have more than 3500 app icons in this theme. I don't find a easy way to solve this problem. can you help me?

One small notice: small icons just as a compressed version of large ones do not work well. Say, icon for Geany on the panel looks like a black square -- such details as codelines on dark background are illegible.

I was told that Ubuntu asked for icons with spaces in the first versions, something around 12.04 or similar.
Now they should have moved to more standard icon naming conventions.
So you might want to check on them with this, as they might not be valid anymore...

I just realized this is just not spaces on any random icons, at least this is my understanding.
It's suppose to be, because of Ubuntu's Web App names that have spaces in them, like these;
Google Calendar-google.com
Google docs-docs.
google.com
Google News-news.google.com
Yahoo Mail-mail.yahoo.com
Amazon Cloud Reader-read.amazon.com
Angry Birds-chrome.angrybirds.com
If the spaces in your iconset are also because of Ubuntu's Web apps, I made a report on this to ask them
to stop doing this as it breaks the iconset...

You probably have 'Spaces' in the names which is common, because it won't generate a vailid icon cache;
gtk-update-icon-cache /home/foo/.icons/Emerald
gtk-update-icon-cache: The generated cache was invalid.
I hope you will please correct this, some applications require a valid icon-theme.cache to render icons, nothing to do with the cache
loading speed, commonly thought of for the cache file...

I suggest you look into faenzaflattr icon theme and compare what icons are missing. Also Ardis has an ardis builder that checks what icons are missing and reports them github.com/iJunkie22/Ardis-Buiβ¦

In the filename you forgot the dot between tar and bz2

God! I find out it's not my fault. it's because the deviantart web renamed the upload tar.bz2 files in a wrong way. I checked my local file it did not miss any dot. so I ziped my theme into 7z zip file.
