Medics are standard in every military unit in the world, but they fulfill a very different role in the Army of the Night. Occasionally, soldiers suffer grievous wounds inflicted by whichever affects their particular Bloodline--wood, silver, etc.--and lose a great deal of blood. The Medic is equipped to deal with this contingency, carrying several canisters of blood with added adrenaline or caffeine. This potent substance is transfused into the patient's body, allowing for a purging of any harmful elements and quickened regeneration. Transfusion can be achieved via an apparatus attached to the mask.
Medics that are trained to care primarily for vampires wear green, as you can see of our friend to the left. To achieve certification as a Medic, the recruit must demonstrate skill and efficacy in removing potentially dangerous items from a vampire's body, as well as in instantly calculating how much blood to dispense to their patient.

However, the Army of the Night also employs an elite class of Medic, recruited from Bloodlines with an affinity for transmissible diseases. These recruits are trained to manipulate and alter the microorganisms in their blood, generating anti-viral/bacterial microorganisms. With a sample from an infected subject, the microorganisms can be tailored to counteract any infection in the concerned Breather. This is especially useful in helping survivors of zombie outbreaks; a trained medic can stop zombie infections cold.
Elite Medics are trained to treat Breathing maladies and injuries as well as assist fellow vampires. They carry more tools and painkillers, and sometimes candy in case they have to treat any kids. It has been suggested that they not do so, but vampire doctors are pretty old school.
As a mark of distinction, elite Medics have adopted the familiar apparel of the old Plague Doctors, the respected and well paid physicians that treated the afflicted of late-renaissance Europe. Several of these doctors were famous for their bravery and benevolence and several doctors of the AOTN decided to honor those worthy souls, being utterly innocent that these appearances are now considered utterly creepy. By the time they discovered this, the masks had already been ordered and nobody really wanted to pay for different ones.

Many thanks to , who is very kind, solicitous to his clients, full of interesting ideas, and of course is bewilderingly talented. Please give him all due praise!
