Chie walked into a restaurant, a nervous smile across her muzzle. The silver fox wanted to dine out at a nice eatery, though when she walked in, it was a lot busier than she was anticipating.
"Table for one, please." Chie went up to the host.
"Sorry ma'am, we're only open for reservations tonight."
"Oh..." Chie frowned. "That's okay, I'll just find someplace else."
"Apologies." the host gave a nod as the vixen walked out of the restaurant and sighed.
"Really? You're not going to be here?" a woman's said angrily on her phone. "Reservations hardly open, and I need a plus one! It's a two person reservation! Fine, if you want to be a stick in the mud, you can be a stick in the mud!" the owl's anger subsided into some kind of cheeky mood, a smirk forming onto the owl's beak and a singsong tone in her voice as she hung up. "They'll be a better dog toy to play fetch with." she sighed before looking around, spotting Chie.
"Excuse me, you weren't trying to get in there were you?" the owl asked to her.
"I was actually, but I don't have a reservation." Chie blushed a bit. "So I couldn't."
"It's your lucky day then, I had a cancellation, so I need someone to come and dine with me, it's very important there's two of us there!"
"Oh, I'd love to join you!" Chie said with a smile, her hands going up to her chest and her tail wagging.
"Excellent, I'm Genevieve by the way." the owl held out a hand.
"I'm Chie, it's nice to meet you!" the silver fox happily accepted the handshake.
"Let's get our seat then, hm?" Genevieve nodded to the entrance, the two ladies walking into it. After an awkward interaction with the host from Chie, the two were seated and ordered their food.
"So, Chie, why'd you want to come here?" Genevieve asked, taking a bite out of complimentary breadsticks.
"I don't know, to feel fancy I guess." she shrugged with a small laugh. "I don't go to places like this much at all, I wanted to try something new."
"You chose the hardest place to get into. I had to fight to get this reservation. Someone was never able to confirm so I slipped on in. You'd have to be a balloon to be that light headed to forget~!" she giggled in a strange laugh, almost as if it were in reference to something.
"Anyways," Chie decided to ignore the oddity. "What do you do for a living, exactly?"
"I'm my own woman, go where I want, get what I want, actually part of the reason I needed someone to be here with me."
"Okay...I'm not really following..." Chie rose an eyebrow and shook her head.
"Don't worry, you don't have to follow." the owl waved a hand as her smirk grew larger. "In fact, you don't even have to think much at all~!"
Chie was only more confused, and she suddenly felt a strange tingle go up and down her body, causing her to freeze in place as her body began to shift in an instant.
Chie's clothing all vanished, with her body shrinking down tremendously. By the time she would be done changing, she would be no larger than the palm of a hand.
She fell down onto all fours, all while an entirely new pair of limbs formed between her arms and legs. Chie's hands became pointed at the ends as the hands lost all opposability, same with her toes. Her legs found themselves higher up on her body, up to the center of her sides.
Chie's head became much smaller, with her ears extending outward and becoming much thinner, forming into a pair of antennas instead. Her muzzle became completely flat, as her hair left her scalp entirely. All the features of her face were gone, her eyes even hardly distinguishable from the rest of her body.
Chie's fur would darken, turning into multiple shades of brown. The fur was much thinner, being more closer to thin hair than fur. Her tail would leave her as well, the end of her body ending in a circular end.
Her back would form a kind of shell to it, giving her body more natural strength to it. She would also form wings, albeit ones that wouldn't be used too often. When it was all over, Chie had gone from a cute silver fox woman, to nothing more than an ugly cockroach in a matter of seconds all thanks to Genevieve.
Unfortunately, it wouldn't be just Chie's body that would leave her, but her mind. In fact, there was hardly any mind left inside Chie's head. Her insect head was too small to hold onto her old intelligence, the only thing left in there was the natural instincts that any other cockroach would have. She wasn't just a bug now, but a mindless bug at that.
Chie fell down on the table, scurrying all around it.
The waiter came back with the food, setting it down.
Genevieve smirked, before going into a feign panic. "Thank you si-oh my gosh, is that a cockroach!?" she stood up and pointed at the scurrying Chie and screamed.
Chie had no reaction to the noise, paying it no mind, though the food that was placed on the table was quite enticing for her now!
"Oh dear, I'm terribly sorry ma'am. This is highly unusual."
"I do expect that this dinner, and my next will be free to pay for this happening?"
"Y-yes ma'am. We'll take care of the cockroach once we find it."
Chie had left the table, deciding to leave for another area to find other food sources. The crowd and noise was getting too much to handle, so she went to find a place to hide.
And with that, Chie lost any chance of ever returning to normal, the cockroach doomed to be one for the rest of her life. No more silver fox woman, just a simple, mindless cockroach wandering the world.
