Travis was wandering through the thrift store, enjoying the peaceful Saturday afternoon. It was a common hobby that he partook in every week, checking out to see what new things had came in each week. Travis found enjoyment from the activity, and made it a goal to buy at least one thing a week to make the trip feel more worth it. He collected them all in one of his spare rooms, building up a rather impressive of knick knacks, figurines, and memorabilia.

Each week there was something eye catching for Travis, however this time it was proving harder than most to find anything that he'd want to take back with him.  He didn't want to have to break his rule of always buying something with each trip, but things weren't looking good for that! He sighed, everything was just a little too tacky for his liking this time around.

Before Travis would officially give up, he gave one look through the section he usually never got to; the electronic section. More times than not, it was simply old wires for electronics he didn't even own. That or old stereos or record players that he didn't need more of, one of each was plenty for him! But, desperate times called for desperate measures.

While Travis didn't find any electronic appliances that interested him, there was another section that would, that being the video game section. There was a small pile in electronics with a handful of them, ranging from more recent console games all the way back to the early cartridge days of the Atari era. That was cool to Travis, but he found something that he was much more interested in.

It was a copy of the computer game "Guild Wars 2." The game was rather old, but it was something that Travis had always wanted to play but never got the chance to pick it up and play it. At the thrift store, they were only charging a few dollars for it. As such, it would be foolish for Travis if he didn't pick it up today! Besides, he still needed to bring something back from today's thrift store visit!

Travis picked it up, purchasing it before heading back home. He missed most of the red lights, and was pleasantly surprised at how good of time he made in getting back home. Once there, Travis wasted no time in booting up his computer to get the installation for the game going while he prepared and ate dinner in the meantime.

Travis washed up and returned to his computer and saw that "Guild Wars 2" had officially finished installing. He rubbed his hands together excitedly, booting it up and heading off to get some water. By the time Travis returned with his glass, the game was ready to launch. He placed the water down and took a seat, cracking his fingers as he got ready to play.

However, Travis would outstretch his hands a little too far, and bumped into the glass of water that was on his desk. Travis reached over and tried to pick up the glass, however it would prove fruitless as the water would drip down onto the computer, causing it to spark. Not only that, Travis felt his body suddenly become immobile. Starting from his feet, they started to pixelate as said pixelization rapidly spread upward. Afterwards, the pixelated body would vanish into seemingly thin air. Travis tried to reach for something however his hands and arms befell the same fate, and soon so would his entire body as the computer let out on last spark and with that, Travis had vanished and the computer had turned off. For Travis, everything went dark for a moment, and in the real world, it appeared as if Travis was never in the chair in the first place.

Travis' vision would return after some time, however there were more than a few things wrong with where he was. For starters, he wasn't in his room, or house for that matter! In fact he wasn't in any house. Travis looked around and noticed that he was in what appeared to be some old town, of what appeared to be a more fantasy styled setting.

He took a few experimental steps, and everything about it seemed real. Travis was more than confused as to where he was or what happened. The last thing he remembered was spilling water and his...body disappearing? That didn't seem right and yet here he was. Confused and hoping to find some answers, Travis began to explore the town to try and find someone or something that could potentially explain what was going on.

Travis' goal would come be achieved, when he came across what appeared to be a simple nobleman. He walked up to him, hoping that he could at the very least tell him where he was.

"Uhm, excuse me?" Travis asked to him. "I woke up here and I have no idea where I am."

"Ah, there you are!" the man turned to him and said. "We've been waiting for - " however, as the man spoke his body twitched and his whole tone of voice changed, sounding more robotic in nature. "Error - File corrupted. File name "Kaela_Shadowpaw" do not match in game file. Issuing correction."

"What?" Travis was confused. "What does that even mean?"

Travis' would discover what was going on, unfortunately for him it would become too late to do anything about it! His body suddenly shuddered as he began twitching. In the process, Travis' body would digitize once more, traveling up and down his body before smoothing back out. Despite that process ending, another one would begin as Travis' body would go through a grand transformation, his "file" being adjusted to fit the character he was supposed to be. Unbeknownst to Travis he had wound up in the game itself! And he didn't belong, so the game had decided to rectify the issue on its own and turn him into a character meant to be!

For starters, Travis' hair would grow longer, centralizing at the center of his head between his ears. The brown hair would start to lighten, becoming more of a white with the ends of it turning black. Black fur would start to spread across Travis' face, with spots of white on his mouth as well as white replacing the color of his eyebrows, of which would become much thicker. The whites of Travis' eyes would become orange as the pupils became a more defined black.

With a head full of fur, Travis' head itself would alter a fair bit. His face stretched outward, elongating into a muzzle as his nose was pushed out with it, resting at the tip. Once there, Travis' nose would became larger, nostrils widening as the color turned black not too unlike his fur. Travis' ears would stretch out, as white fur coated the insides of them. However, there was a tugging sensation underneath them, as an entirely new pair of ears would grow out from the side of his head. Between each set of ears, a short horn would protrude out and point backwards. Similarly, at the top of Travis' head two long, gray, and pointed horns would extend out from the top, growing a bit past his neck.

The black fur would continue to grow down Travis' body, covering him up from his head to his feet. The only exception to this would be Travis' torso, where white fur that matched what was left of his hair would grow. Travis' nails would lengthen out greatly, turning a yellowish gray as they would become sharp and pointed, shifting into a set of claws on his hands and feet. However, more changes would befall Travis' feet compared to his hands, as one digit would vanish entirely before emerging back out at his heels. His feet went up on the ball of them, keeping his heel suspended up in the air. Travis' legs would follow in suit, contorting to become digitigrade in their shape. Travis' arms would shift slightly as well, with his shoulders cracking downward and moving lower on his body, though this would make him capable of being speedy on all fours. Out from the base of Travis' spine, an entirely new appendage would start growing out. It was almost feathery in appearance, with gray fur coating his newly grown tail, of which had a decent bit of length to it.

Travis' figure would start to shift around as well. His back went into a deeper curve, with his neck becoming thicker at the backside of it. His sides pushed inward, giving him a bit of a curve to his body. Speaking of, Travis' body would start to bulk up a fair bit, which didn't do him any favors for his clothing as it started to tear at the seams. His arms lost mass to them, become more slender overall though forming a fair bit a muscle at the same time. Travis' belly would flatten out, with two very modest lumps growing onto his chest as he was given a pair of breasts. Travis' manhood would slip back into his body, contorting wildly as his reproductive system re-worked itself in order to shift his sex to female.

Travis wouldn't have an opportunity to think anything of it, with his mind being rapidly reworked and overwritten by an entirely new personality as the "file error" was correcting itself. She was Kaela Shadowpaw, a charr and an esteemed scout. While she was more reserved in larger groups of other charr, in smaller settings she was much more active in conversation. Not to mention she was one heck of a shot with a rifle, perhaps the best charr with the weapon! Kaela was also very loyal, and would do everything in her power in order to keep the ones she cared about safe. With Kaela Shadowpaw officially replacing Travis, her body would become mobile again as her mind cleared up.

"What the heck is going on with my outfit?" she questioned, looking down at the shirt and shorts that were barely hanging on by a thread. "And who put a hat through my horn?" she questioned, reaching a hand up and pulling off the gray cadet cap, tossing it aside.

"There you are Kaela!" the man from earlier spoke to her as if nothing had happened.

"Did you do this?" she questioned. "Because I don't remember what I was doing!"

"Your outfit is deeper in Charr territory, but these robes should fit you better than that." he held out white garments for Kaela to take, of which she happily obliged. "Once there, you will need to meet up with C'aethl. He'll explain what is going on for you and give you your first quest."

"Will do!" Kaela nodded. "Thanks for the help!" And with that, Kaela rushed off, entering into a nearby building and headed straight to the bathroom. She pulled the shirt up over her head, getting snagged on her horns as it wound up getting torn off entirely. "Well, that's a way to get a shirt off!" she chuckled to herself. Afterwards, she slipped out of her shorts much easier, tanks to their looseness. She wondered why she was dressed in such odd clothes in the first place but shrugged it off. Now in nothing but fur, she grabbed the garments she was given. She wrapped a tribal white bra that hung over her shoulder with a leather belt on her torso, and slipped into a white loincloth with the same belt. She appeared rather open, with not much of her body covered. None the less, it was much better than the tattered clothes she was in before! But she just wanted to be in her usual scouting outfit already! As such, Kaela left and headed straight towards Charr territory.

Once there, she discovered a chest in one of the abodes. Upon opening a wide grin grew across Kaela's muzzle. She placed the hat with goggles onto her head, carefully sliding her horns through the horns. After she abandoned the loincloth in favor for brown cargo pants. Afterwards, she wrapped the blue scarf around her neck and put on a brown coat, complete with weapon holsters. She gave a look at herself in the mirror with a smirk. That was more like it.

"Looking good Kaela! Now let's show this world who's boss!"
