You were sitting around near the main office of the pet store, nervously twiddling your thumbs. You had been out of work for a while, but had managed to land an interview with a new pet store that had opened up in your town. You didn't have much experience handling pets, however, according to the application you wouldn't be dealing with any pets, rather, just the customers themselves.

There were some strange looking animals in the store, namely of the reptilian variety. You weren't too well versed with those, so figured they were simply animals that you weren't familiar with. There were a few more expected animals like cats and dogs, though all the cats were black and the dogs seemed almost wolf-like in nature. It was strange, but far from odd enough to raise red flags.

"Next interviewee?" a woman opened the door to the office.

"That would be me." you reply as you stand up.

"Great, go ahead and come on in." she smiled. "I'm Dianna, I'll be interviewing you today."

"Nice to meet you." you smile and head into the office, Dianna closing the door behind you. "Please, have a seat." she invited you as she walked around the desk and sat behind it in her chair.

"Now then, do you have experience in this field?"

"I don't have a whole lot, the job posting mentioned experience wasn't required. But I think I would be a good fit. I'm certainly a quick learner." you explain.

However, Dianna didn't seem like she was listening, and seemed to be looking you up and down instead.

"Is everything alright?" you asked tilting your head.

"Oh yes, I'm just making sure I have your proportions correct." Dianna replied.

"Proportions? Is height important to the job?" you joke.

"No, but I want to make sure the transition goes smoothly." she responded.

"Transition? Does...that mean your hiring me?"

"In a way. For those with less experience we have certain position they're meant to fill. I'm sure you'll adjust nicely."

Before you could question Dianna further, you felt a strange heat form from inside of your body. You look down at it, seeing that it had begun changing drastically. Further worry and confusion would befall you as your face started to stretch out, entering into your line of vision. In the process, you also noticed that your skin started to change in color as the skin itself hardened. It was turning into white scales with a bit of a blue-ish tint. Your nose became smaller, nostrils turning into slits at the end of your face. You felt your jaw itself become more jagged, all while the scales spread all over your face. Growing out from the top of your head, two golden horns emerged that pointed back. Your hair turned a snowy white color, with a bit more blue to it than your new scales had.

The scales continued to overtake your body, going down your neck and all the way down your feet. However, a new addition formed now his front, that being gold colored scales with lines across them. This gave you a two colored scale pattern.

Your spine formed an extension in the way of an entirely new appendage. This was thick at at the base, though became thinner the further it was. At the end of it, the new tail formed into a triangular point. Going down the spine, hair fluff would be formed on it. The digits of your feet grew larger, while the nails shifted into golden claws that matched the color of your belly and horns.

Lastly, growing out from your neck would be blue-ish white neck fluff that matched the hairs that formed onto your new tail. Your clothes were a tattered mess from all the changes, which was to be expected after turning into an anthropomorphic dragon.

"W-what...?" you questioned looking down at your body, "W-what happened to me!?"

"As I mentioned, this is all apart of the transition." Dianna responded. "This is merely the halfway point."

"H-halfway point?" you became even more nervous than before.

"Yes, you see, this is more than just a pet shop." Dianna explained. "We have many wizards and witches who come in here, and they need familiars. So, that's where you, and the other pets come in. The pet store is a simple front as to what we really do here. I'm sure you'll enjoy being someone's familiar. They're generally quite pleasant."

"Is it too late to say no?" you asked hopefully.

"Apologies, but you already bounded yourself by simply accepting this interview. It was all in the fine print when you applied. I do assure you though you'll enjoy being a dragon familiar. And it appears like that change has begun."

You tried to speak, however, found your throat unable to form any words. What came out instead was an adorable squeak. Your body found itself shrinking dramatically, so much so that if your clothes weren't torn up, they'd be falling on top of you with how small you were becoming. Your body became merely a foot tall, losing almost all of your size.

Your body forced itself downward, being permanently positioned in a quadrupedal stance. The fluff around your neck became more apparent as the volume of that didn't change in your transition in height. Growing out from your back, two small wings emerged out from the center of it, previously missing when you were anthropomorphic. Your body was fluffier overall, with the same colored scales as before. You now sat in the chair as a small feral dragon.

"Perfect." Dianna walked around the corner and lifted you up, holding you in your arms. "Oh yes, you're going to be an excellent familiar. Rare gold color in those emerald eyes."

You wanted to protest, but something about her words were calming. You would make a perfect familiar, as much as you didn't want to admit it.

"Good, now then, go and head into your kennel. I'll let you get there yourself. Show me how you can function like that." Dianna said, opening the door to the office and placing you on the ground.

You felt an urge to obey her due to the magic that bound you to her. You had your normal mind, but you were obedient to her. While struggling a bit moving in your new, much smaller body, you manage to walk, and then fly into the kennel that was already opened up for you.

"Excellent. I knew you'd be a perfect dragon. Just didn't have a werewolf feel to you. Now then let's see who you're going to be a familiar to. I'm sure it won't be long~!"
