Well... that is your plight as an artist... communicating to your audience the feelings and thoughts you have in mind through expression, color, tone difference, lighting, perspective... and so. And for me in this image, particularly, I realize that the phone is to symbolize the aspect of communication (with a deeper implied meaning of reciprocated mutual communication, as that is usually how a phone conversation goes). But when I disconnect from my logical brain functions and just look at the piece with no thought... something doesn't jive with me. I think that the image of the phone is holding back some greater potential that is just on the surface. Especially with the way that you look against the dingy wall, your hair hanging down... sorta matted...
I seems the communion between thought and form in fact has been disrupted... which makes sense and very well could be your aim, on a deeper level.
I dunno... just a simple man's thoughts on the matter.
