Blue felt cold hands clench around her heart, as clinging and clawing as Sugar Pearl's around her left arm. The gasps and murmurs of the combined courts were erupting around them. Her Pearl's voice was breathless.

"Oh my stars!"

Blue took ahold of Sug's wrist.

"They've violated our treaty."

She said it in a voice deadly calm. Sugar Pearl looked up at her, but Blue Tigerseye was watching the place where Rose Gold Diamond had vanished.

"We need to find our Diamond this instant."

The Ambassador did not release her grip on the Pearl as the two of them made a swift exit from the wedding. Sug was trembling, terrified of the battles certain to come. Blue was filled with fury as deep as any she had felt for the loss of her sister. Her heart screamed it, though her blank face did not: traitors, cruel selfish traitors! Innocents around and evil abounds.
