Years ago Kqet had relations with the Shofixti, and after the appearance of the Ur Quan. And on behalf of their Allies, Kqet had War'd with the Ur Quan and eventually assimilated their fleet. (People back then were unaware of Kqet and its cubed ships then, but would later become stolen and be known as the Borg.) They took pity on the Shofixti race and took them to the Kqetian home world, there they repopulate their species peacefully.
In exchange, they teach each other about their technology and with the help of the Kilrathi, the StaRift is perfected!
