Fritjof's outcry at mom during the August 2022 Gathering broke my heart:

"His attention turned to his mother, she couldn’t have known, right? She would have never let such a monster into the empire, right? He felt sick and desperate, and pleaded out to his mother. “Mother!? Shabeel! Tell me you didn’t know! Tell me you wouldn’t have left this monster into our empire! Tell me you wouldn’t have made him my mentor!!!” As he pleaded he started to feel very ill, like his previous meal was about to come back up. He stared at her with his eyes pleading, and horrified. She couldn’t have known."

So of course I had to draw something for the two in the aftermath o~o
Shabeel swears to her son that she never knew Zaatar would do such a thing, apologizes that she ever made him Fritjof's mentor, and asks if her son can ever forgive her... And she assigns Zadar, his father, to help finish his training. Shabeel can't put her son through yet another change in mentors, so she goes with the safe option of immediate family
