That's quite the dramatic landscape. The contrast between the sky and ground is great and so are the bold colors. Nice job.

The long line of the dune is really interesting in this. It catches your eye and carries it all the way back. The sky is a little dark in this...at least compaired to your other pictures. You should learn the wonderful world of PS masks

i think it's time for a compressed version of one of my photographic rants. a lot of people i've noticed have a feeling of how a photograph 'should' look. that element should be over there, the composition shouldn't be asymmetrical, the contrast should be different, the sky should be lighter. a critique isn't what something 'should be', but what 'you could try'. i have never seen a sand / desert shot with a sky quite like yours. you might try seeing how it looks lighter, but to my personal eye i love how this shot looks as you have it. i would say sure, fudge with it a bit in photoshop and see what kind of results you get. if you like those results, by all means, change the image or upload a new one. you are the artist, and in that sense you are have the divine power to control what everything you create looks like. but people are going to tell you to change something. my advice? listen, but don't heed. hear their words and take them into account, but at the end of the day, don't question your own vision because of someone else's limited view.

Have you ever played around with the focus/graininess of the photo (or anything else)? The edges of the clouds look like something that might have a really weird....and cool....effect if you tweaked it a little.

Yeah, its(mainly the sky) undergone a fair amount of post-processing (I'm questioning if its too much), hence the grain. I like my colours, shadows etc. to be more extreme than they appear in real life...
