I've thought about the normal universe having a possible (but not possible age rating wise) romance between this two characters. Your fan art portrays a great and original what if in the AU.

I tend to see the Reverse AU taking place when they're older, possibly around 17? Otherwise I wouldn't have made a joke like this! lol.
Gravity Falls actually had a lesbian couple in the story boards for the Love God episode, but it was vetoed by Disney, apparently because this show is an international cash cow and they wont risk pissing of anti-gay countries like Russia. Same thing happened to Adventure Time, the excuse being "it's illegal in those countries, so we can't put it in our show or the network could get in trouble and lose money."

That makes sense, it seems like a lot of Gravity Falls AUs take that approach, since they more freedom for mature themes if they're more appropriate in age. It's really stupid that the network limits the show because of things like that. Its not like it's the central theme, the actual characters are probably staight so what's the big deal if minor characters that will probably be forgotten be gay. I'm a hetrosexual guy, but I support both gay sexes as long as either side isn't to the radical extreme that is often seen on the news or on internet comments.

I agree. Maybe it's because its part of Disney. That's the only "good" excuse I can think of since Disney has the biggest reputation. But Disney also allowed a Same sex couple on one of it's sitcom shows... That blows my theory...
