Poplarstorm & Morningclaw are her biological parents, but neither raised her. Morning died before Poplar knew she was pregnant, while Poplar didn't want to raise the surviving kit by herself, especially w/ undiagnosed PPD, so Maple bounced between various other cats

One quirk of her bloodline is that every once in a while, a cat would miscarry or deliver stillborn kits w/ blue-gray skin, long birdy digits, & open, white eyes. Just what the hell is up w/ her family? Who knows!

Maple is a very big cat, biggest of her Clan & of the Clans in general. Apple was already full grown when he meets Maple, but she's already visibly taller & stronger than him. She was tiny compared to adult ThClanners like her mentor Bloomheart, but outgrew them by 9 months.

Her babies are Sequoiakit (Patch), Pearkit (Petal), & Chestnutkit (Larch)! They're all small and stubby, which Rabbitfur finds weird bc that's not what ThC kits look like apparently, though they'll get a growth spurt later. I think it would be funny if Maple's names for the kits reference their heritage by complete coincidence: pears are close relatives of apples, horse chestnuts are close relatives of maples, & the coast redwood, genus name Sequoia & belonging to the sequoia family, is a possible product of hybridization
