So when I was a kid I was riding the bus home from school and some older kids were talking about this fighting game called Mortal Kombat. It had all these cool finishing moves including one, it was described, where a girl plucks a hair out of your head and blows into the resulting hole until you pop like a balloon.

I cannot explain how their child brains came to that very specific conclusion, but the memory obviously stuck with me and now here we are.
