This makes me want to give up on interface design - it's just too damn good! The lighting, the shading, the deliberately flawed panels... Everything is so well crafted, so convincingly airbrushed. Congratulations on an excellent work, mate.

vida, this is gorgeous, the lighting balance is awesome, and surface textures are really fitting, the various glows/casts are spot on, if this is just one of the studies, i can't wait to see the final design

This is really a perfect blend of breathtaking photoshop work and nice dark theme. I would say it is a teeny weeny bit too dark, but I'm not sure myself either. The lightning effects are really greatly executed and look realistic. Overall this is a wonderful piece of art.

Guh! That is so detailed I have no idea where to start! Well, first off, I love it but that is obvious, as who wouldn't? The detail and realism is amazing, it actually looks as if it is made of metal. And it's not clean metal either, it looks as if it's a well used machine, heavily oiled in places and rusting slightly in others. That is definately a welcome change and adds to the realism. I don't like the light, not quite sure why, but in my opinion it doesn't quite fit in. I can see why you added it of course, afterall, there'd be no point in having a spot light in the image unless it actually lit something up. I dunno, perhaps it's how the light is cut off so bluntly that makes it look odd to me. I love those little hydrolic pumps, they look really greasy too (reminds me of work heh) so go well with the rest of the image. The little 'view screen' I feel could be 'lowered', maybe have a shadow on it to give this effect, I'm not sure. Although all the colours used in image are very dark, it still keeps it's detail and interest, not making it too difficult to look at. It obviously took a great deal of time and patience, and this shows through greatly. A wonderful piece.
