And Soundwave used to be the Bouncer for the club where Starscream worked, but when Megatron tried to take Starscream he challenged him to a fight but it ended in a tie so they both got Starscream in the end and that is why Starscream is always between them both. In Rank, stature, and berth.

Yes, and that's why Megatron never gets rid of Starscream and Soundwave doesn't get violent against him. Starscream is the little bond that keeps the family together.
Oh, that is all so touching, somebody write a novel about it:
