Once I felt like she'd relaxed a little, I told her I had this giant, amazing rare plant at home and that she'd never seen anything like it. She was skeptical, of course, but I calmly and confidently assured her that I was telling the truth and that it'd be the perfect thing to take her mind off of her rough night. It took a bit of persuading, but she finally agreed to follow me to where I was keeping this strange plant she just had to see.
