Multiple Person

Donald Beckenridge became know as the Multiple Person after he wrote apology letters to the press after murdering over a dozen people. He claimed he had no control over the multiple personalities that were within him. The letters were forensically traced back to him, and he found himself on death row. On the day he was set to be executed he was given an offer by the warden to die that day or participate in a government research experiment. He opted to remain alive and become a lab rat.

  He was told the research would test him with different therapies to better understand how people developed personality disorders. The first days at the research facility weren’t bad for him. He had been given a few injections and felt none the worse for it. In the weeks that followed, however, he was subjected to sensory deprivation, which caused his other personalities to override him. After this, he started to lose track of the days. When he was in control once he thought he felt something moving underneath his skin. He was examined and told that these were muscle spasms.

  The routine continued, with injections and sensory deprivation. When Donald would gain control and become himself again, he would be questioned by various doctors. He began to lose the feeling and control of his body. The spasms continued and got worse. One day he was Donald again, but quickly realized he could no longer see. He began to scream in terror and was given a sedative. Thereafter when he was thought calm enough it was explained, that this blindness was a side effect of the injections. He spoke with the doctors and explained his blackouts had gotten worse. The other personalities were taking control, and whatever they were doing to him was not working. He was told not to worry, that the side effects would wear off.

  The doctors laughed. It sounded like there were three or more in the room. He was in control again. He asked why they were laughing. He was still blind and had no idea how long it held been this time. The doctors continued to laugh, He now yelled saying it’s not working! The laughter stopped. There was an odd silence for a moment. He could feel something moving beside him. He felt it touch him faintly. He realized as it moved so, did he. He wasn’t controlling his own movement, something else was.

   I’m no doctor, said a raspy voice to Donald. The doctors are all dead, it’s only us now. Us who?, Donald Demanded. His voice sounded weak, and he began to tremble with fear. He thought to himself, at least I have control of one arm. He couldn't see, but he could hear. Another voice said, we have always been here Donald, but you locked us away.

  He realized what this meant. He felt them moving around him, in him, and through him. The experiment had taken the twisted parts of him and released them. He now shared the same body with the other personalities, but no longer the same mind. Donald lashed out and struck at the voice. Another spoke something, but he didn't make out what it said. He only felt a fist colliding with his jaw. This was his final fight, he thought to himself, it was the others who killed before, but not today, not this time. Today he would finally kill willingly, those parts of himself he had long hated.

  Sometime later his twisted mangled dead body, or bodies, depending on who you'd look at it was/were found. An escaped researcher alerted them that a patient had attacked and killed several doctors at the research facility. It was later determined that this experiment was never authorized, and would have been shut down if the proper officials had been notified. The primary researcher was found to be a widow, following one of the Multiple Person’s murders. This was vengeance unleashed on Donald. The experiment never intended on repairing the multiple personalities Donald had lived with. The experiment was to see how far and long they could cause each personality manifest, to completely drive Donald insane beyond repair.
