This is so beautiful and moving. Sherlock's deductions shows what a fragile state John is in (like the fact that he hasn't slept in days, that he's lost so much weight, he's trembling, and he's been having nightmares.) Their relationship isn't something that can be explained: it's not sexual or even romantic but it's much deeper and stronger than even best friends. They're lost with out each other and are inseparable, their love is unconditional and no matter what they're always for each other, even though Sherlock has trouble expressing himself and can seem distant sometimes he has his own showing love. The closest way to explain their relationship is a bromance or soul mates (a soul mate isn't necessarily romantic.) There's a reason that their relationship is probably the most famous and well-known in literature and movies.
