Description Next short falls under the Rights of a Child collection, made for UNICEF. Films in this collection were inspired by one tenant of UNICEF's code of children's rights and were screened as such. This one is Overdose, produced in 1994 by Claude Cloutier.

The story of the short expresses the cyclical routine of a young child and his already chaotic life. He splits his time between school, piano practice, tennis lessons, swimming and other activities among (presumably others). He seems to run his schedule like clockwork, but one day he suffers from burnout to the extent where he won't get out of bed. The right is was inspired by is the "right to rest and leisure".

It's a fascinating concept because the right chosen by the animator was pretty subtle ad relatable. It extends past preconceptions of what UNICEF can and will do for children and cross cultural barriers. It can definitely kickstart discussion on such overload vs hard work.

Every day, I'll share a link to the official home of the shorts at nfb.ca; Most of these shorts are probably available on Youtube as well, but I'm not sure whether or not it would be right to give it. If you can't find it, note me and I'll give you a link. So, three asterisks(***) will denote Youtube availability.  Four(****) means it's coming straight from NFB's official channel. Some of the selection have been featured in the Cartoon Network anthology, Oh Canada! I will use the code @CN to convey such a message.
