Early on, the book itself served as the inspiration for David Cronenberg's legendary 1983 sci-fi thriller movie.
Did you also know that the Fishmen of the One Piece franchise's fame were named after a popular Japanese psychedelic music band of the same name?
That idea was suggested to the then-showrunners of the One Piece anime due to a legal situation. The same was the reason why the other considered names were all discarded.
