Description
This is one of the post-pacifist scenarios i imagine with Flowey/Asriel where Alphys creates a sort-of artificial soul for him. It functions like a magical equivalent to a pacemaker and cognitive behavioral therapy; because Flowey is essentially a dead soul himself and has determination, the machine can analyze what he’s thinking, link it to what variation of determination he’s ‘feeling’, link that to the soul trait it most closely corresponds to (since the soul traits are all variations of determination), and then administers that into his body, allowing him to feel that emotion. Obviously it isn’t an instant fix; Flowey’s emotions aren’t always ‘even’, there’s the potential for a “these aren’t really my emotions” complex and he definitely isn’t yet comfortable calling himself ‘Asriel’, but it’s a prominent step towards healing.

This idea was heavily inspired by the Insomnia comic by wilyart (wilyart.tumblr.com ), before reading I hadn't even really considered the concept of soul traits, so they deserve all the thanks for that.
