Holy mother of all things artsy. I am done with this drawing.Okay, just done with the black and white. I am still going to color this monster, but I really don't want to think about it for a while. SO! In the meantime. Tell me what you guys think! This is a picture that has haunted me forever and I wanna know what y'all see.
I've stuffed this thing with personal, TV, Book Video game, and Manga references. Let's see who can see the most of them. So, Please please please please please, click on the little download link there to see this full size. I went down to the individual pixel for this thing.

This was originally an assignment for school, coincidentally, so it was originally sketched with pencil and paper, then scanned in and cleaned up in photoshop.
The only actual techniques I used were just the basic how-tos of perspective (I.E. Laying down the lines, using boxes to establish shapes, and detailing on top.)
If you're interested in that, there are plenty of good perspective tutorials here on DA that you can search for.

This work is just beautiful and so masterfully executed. I added it to my favorites. I'm not quite sure of all the gaming references, but I absolutely love how you put everything together. It is totally worth the time which you must have invested in it. Truly an amazing job and I'm envious of your skill.

When you say each individual pixel, I can see you mean it O.O
I mean, you shaded every single detail, didn't leave absolutely anything out just because "it's a huge canvaas and nobody will notice". That must've taken a great deal of time, but I must say, in full view it brings so much to the picture!
And like I said on the critique meme, one of my favourite things about your art is the amazing lighting effects. And here, it can be clearly seen why I said so! Multiple lightsources - that's not an easy thing to tackle, but you managed it perfectly and it make the image look all the more amazing!

Since I know where most of the cameo things are, I don't get to play the "spot the" game ^_^
But wow. Seriously, just wow. This is an incredible piece and it's taken a great deal of work.
My favorite thing about this is the light sources. There are so many of them! And that's something that will either cripple a piece or make it truly fascinating. I love where you've stashed candles in places no candle should be stashed.
I also am having fun picking out the references that are so obscure I don't think anyone else is going to catch them. This was a lot of work for you, but I think it also looks like you had a lot of fun.

The only reference I can catch is the Magic Shop was inspired by Final Fantasy X shops. But I may be wrong. xD
