I love the brushstrokes of the background. It's a bit of a shame that the painting has to include a recognizable symbol (a woman) because most people wouldn't be ready to understand a completely abstract piece with no recognizable components. Here the presence of the woman gives the background a set of possible interpretations and the viewer's imagination fills in the rest.
