Allow me to explain in a brief history lesson.
The Greeks defined love in two states-eros, and philia. Eros was...let us say...love of the involved sort, what brought the word "erotic" into the English language. Brotherly love was philia, but the name was later dropped and replaced with the term "Platonic" when it entered our ligua franca.
