Description
So Panya
Don't be fooled by how small she is, what she lacks in size she makes up for in pure sadism
Stemming from an already rather small breed of lions due to food shortages and proximity to humans Panya is also the runt of the litter and, thanks to her banishment rather stunted in growth because malnutrition does that to a smol bastard.
The reason for her banishment? Because she killed one of her siblings - the claws she pierced through her ears are from them.
Having to effectively fend for herself and survive outside of her pride wasn't easy - luckily her dad snug her some food, occasionally also defending and training with her.
Why? Well, Panya had to get the idea and bastard genetics from somewhere
But eventually, she got fully sent away and truth be told she would have left anyway to finally find a place of her own.
Her lack of size means she isn't really holding up in a fair fight, so that's what she tried to avoid at all cost, usually playing cute and innocent or outsmarting her opponents.
While Panya hasn't straight-up killed any bigger animal she led some of them to their own demise, enjoying the pain and suffering she causes~
This little bastard has killed quite the hand full of rouge lions through sheer manipulation simply for her own enjoyment, luring them in with all kinds of promises, from a kingless pride to a free meal to her own body.
That isn't to say Panya is a completely heartless monster, it's just hard to find something or someone she really cares about.
Eventually making her way into the pride lands she tried to play a starving cub in hopes of getting some intel but also some free food.
Panya then got taken to pride rock and was offered some food, but faked fainting from exhaustion - not without piquing Scar's interest who offers to take care of her.
Scar was at first quite confused by Panya, after understanding she wasn't actually a cub (and understanding it had become quite a wound spot for her) they got some more to talking.
In that little bastard, he saw someone he could relate to, and while it was hard to ignore her lack of size at first that's not who he saw her as - to him she was a smart and cunning lioness using her biggest weakness to get back at others.
The two quickly hit it off, spending some time together - Scar even introduces Panya to the hyenas to who she instantly grows attached to.
Panya being... well Panya mean she was absolutely on-board when it came to overthrowing the king and taking his place, though after witnessing the failures she decided to step in after the stampede and kill the future king herself - something that left even Scar somewhat intimidated. But she was not taking chances and could easily take on a cub herself.
She also as Scar wrapped around her paw quite a bit while also keeping him in check - something that works suprisingly well.
And Panya starts leading the hyenas as a hunting group, having the lionesses focusing on patroling while she makes sure they only hunt what is needed.
Scar also quickly declares her to be his queen, leading to some confusion but what can you do.
///
Truth be told Panya isn't as cruel as she would like others to think she is.
She actually killed her brother by accident after he kept making fun of her for being the runt, though the enjoyment she felt for doing so was real.
Not because he was her brother, but she enjoyed killing - she actually was upset about losing her brother tho, and while she pretends she used his claws as her ear piercings like how the adults used the claws of enemys to show how many they killed it's really more of a memory thing to her, keeping her brother with her.
Her brother is still haunting her - literally. Well more so guiding her, he isn't angry that he got killed but rather upset it happened - though he doesn't blame Panya. After all, he also was the only one witnessing what really happened, her tears and begging for him to wake up, and the fact she simply snapped from the situation.
Her lack of size is immensly frustrating to her, she doesn't want to be this helpless little cub unable to care for herself... but that's just what she is.
And coming to terms with that and the fact she needs help is hard. It's probably one of the biggest reasons she leashed out when she gets the chance to.
Being in charge helps with that because being the brain of an operation is one of the few things she can do and help with - or play a fitting role for her like bait or luring in rouge lions.
