My FIRST ever DC work was this Justice Society of America trading card. My inks over Paul Smith’s pencils. Paul (or Smitty) called me and asked if I would like to ink his pencils on this. The moment I said yes, that project became a mentorship from Smitty where he would teach me how to ink the majority of the same piece via Fax. When Smitty was done, I asked him “why don’t you just turn in your own inks for this as it’s almost done”. In which Smitty replied “I want you to do this and get your first DC comic credit”. I love that man as he jump started my comic career.
