There's definitely something sadistic about this work, but undeniably it captures something real about Elvis' deterioration at the end of his life.
I'm sure those final days in 1977 were painful for him and for everyone that cared about him.

not at all grotesque, if anything it's very well done. we can tell who it is. i have seen some sickening elvis portraits of him being fat and bloated and they just make me so angry, this is a relief.
