HAha sooooo! This is obviously in reference to the newest episode XD lol And so it's just kinda like depicting what it might have felt like if Steven never came to talk to her, and popping her out of that bubble :c The bubbles are like Gem prison, only they aren't exactly conscious, but yet they are at the same time like how Lapis was in the mirror who in that case was very conscious. And like... how AWFUL it must be to be trapped inside of an object or a bubble or something for like freaking thousands of years 8U so you have this picture with Peridot and a bunch of other gems in the background in bubbles wishing they could get out :cSo This is my weekly painting for this week for my youtube channel.
WOO!!!! I didn't really know what to draw but I had this picture pop into my head so I thought it would be fun to draw, plus just fun to draw mini Peridot anyways XD lolol This was actually a bit of a challenge for me in terms of blending colors, because Red/Pink and green may go well together, they don't exactly blend well together being complimentary colors lol, but I think I got it to work. lol or at least to my eyes :l lol This took me about 4 hours to do :> PLEASE SEE THE YOUTUBE VIDEO OF THIS HERE!!!! 8D www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qDo-Y…

i'm not sure if it's fair to use lapis as a comparison for how it is inside the bubble, since she was not inside the bubble at all. her gem was used to power the mirror but it was different than being stuck in the bubble as far as i know.
either way though this is an adorably sad picture of lil peridot and i'm glad steven freed her

The colors were a bit of a challenge for me because Green and Pink/red when mixed together make brown despite that they go so well together lol but hahah yeah! I feel like I was able to make them blend well

I'm really trying to work on Composition, it's kinda a new turn I'm trying to raise the bar a little with my art because I really only started taking composition seriously in the last like.. :l month or two which is really sad
Aww, you made the XBox Space Mom look so adorable! ^v^ While I've kind of fallen out of love with this series over time, that certainly doesn't get in the way of enjoying your amazing art.
I'm really digging the coloring job here. The way the light reflects off from the bubble she's trapped in really adds so much to the mood of the picture, and I love the detail of how you can see other near ghost-like gems eerily imprisoned in the background. 0v0
Also, thanks again for making speedpaints. I've been trying to get better at digital art, and watching your videos has been a really great resource.

lololol I've never been good at Tutorials, I know I was going to do one but then I realized how bad I am at explaining how to do thngs
Honestly the best way I can really show you how I work is through my Youtube videos in a time lapse form, where you see me build from sketch, to base colors, to blocking in colored shading an lighting, and then going in and givine detail and cleaning up as I go. The Youtube video I post o this upcoming Monday will be the best example so far, because the way I recorded the Peridot picture is kinda choppy, where my pearl video (yeah the next picture and video I post will be of Pearl X> And judging from your Icon I think you'll like that haha) is a lot more clean and easier to follow and stuff. so lololol idk
I can give you some advice though or try.

I really love this. This concept is very interesting, and very scary too. It's kind of sadistic how the Crystal Gems just bubble her and seem to be content with just leaving her like that indefinitely. I know that it's life or death for them, but they just seemed too...chill? Happy? about bubbling her. Idk. But this piece is really great. I Love the way you colored it too.

yeah 8C.... it's pretty sad because she's not corrupted or a monster which makes her different than the other gems that they bubbled, but yet all they see in her is a threat, the poor little Peridot <:C
