OK!!! SO!!! First off! Funny story with this picture. So I was watching Steven Universe, and one of the episodes I watched was 'Rose's Scabbard' and just with how Pearl was holding onto the scabbard and wanted to find Rose's sword and how that was the big episode we all found out that Pearl is in love and loss for Rose and everything, I got this idea in my head of Pearl holding Rose's sword with Rose's around her to symbolize Rose Quartz and everything with Pearl thinking of her, ya know, aka this picture. WELL I was super excited to draw it, and then surfing on youtube (because ya know, I just made a new Youtube account like two/three weeks ago) I was looking at other's speed paint, and came across a picture of Pearl that was super super SUPER Similar to the picture I saw in my head. So I was like 8U...... :l...... well.... crap!

I HAVE NEVER RUN INTO THIS PROBLEM BEFORE!!! I suddenly felt like I couldn't draw the idea that I got. I mean, I know that drawing Pearl with Rose's sword and so on has been done many times, and how being as it is fan art, everyone is going to get their inspiration from the same exact source, so ya know, naturally, similar or even the same ideas will pop up in multiple places, and all I can figure is, that's what happened here. ( And if you do watch the time lapse speed painting of me drawing it (link at the top) , you can also see that I didn't even go on the internet or use her picture as a reference, so I didn't even look at her's when I drew it), But REGARDLESS! even then like, so much of the set up was like almost too similar, with Pearl looking to the left and so forth, even though the position and colors and unshiethed blade, style, expression, and much more are different, the two pictures in a basic format are pretty much the same set up, which really bothered me. SO, I really didn't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable or that I stole something, so, I went to this person, And told her the situation and asked for her permission and so on. Thankfully, she was super nice and gave me permission to make this picture anyways, which I'm really thankful for. It's just so crazy that, like, idk, I've never gotten an idea so closely to someone else's already existing picture that I have felt the need to ask permission before, so this was a first.

but anyways! SO!!! With all that said, is an amazing and very talented artist and I want to give her credit for coming up with the general idea and making her own version of it way before me, and again she did give me permission for me to draw my own version of this idea. But yeah so credit goes to her, she has incredible art And for those of you that are Steven Universe Fans, (which I know a lot of you are) You should check her out because she makes tons of awesome SU art!!! So lolol yeah like I was saying earlier, based off the episode "Rose's Scabbard", and on Youtube commented on my Bubbled Peridot picture saying that a lot of my digital art has an oil painting look to it, which I didn't even really realize or notice till that person pointed that out, and now that it's been brought to my attention, I guess it does kinda have an oil painted look haha whih is cool XD I've never looked at my art that way and seen that in my chalk-air brushed digital paintings XD so I thought that was really cool XD This picture took me 5 hours to make, and was done in Photoshop elements 11 :>
