There are problematic characters, and then there's this guy. Tate Langdon from the first season of American Horror Story. Never have I wanted to hate someone so badly, even as they make my heart bleed. (Don't worry, no spoilers.)

I already have an obsession with complicated, damaged, morally questionable (not to mention unquestionably immoral) characters. Usually villains or not-quite-villains. I love seeing these jerks try to justify the unjustifiable, because it's so damn human to succumb to your worst intentions. Sometimes, people don't overcome the worst of themselves. Sometimes, they don't want to. Heroes rarely channel that side of being human.

That said, Tate is a serious problem. Here are some pencil sketches of the precious little bastard.
