Back-story

Rusty was born to a family of advisers to the royal family of the Steam Empire. Secretly, his mother and father were helping ponies oppressed by the gear king, he eventually found out and had them hunted down. As they tried to escape into a sewer, a cave in happened, killing his mother and father and crushing his front left leg. He was found by a family of lower class engineers where he was able to forge a new leg, for nearly seven years he was put into the engineering work force, branded with a gear shape cutiemark with the serial number 150 forever scarred on both side of his flank. After brutal amounts of work he eventually decided to escape from his tyrannical king and find a new land to call home, he broke into a top secret research facility where he took a fighter jet to anywhere that he thought was better than that place. Upon nearing the ocean border, he was shot down by a AA missile. He made a emergency landing on the closest nation, which turned out to be Equestria. After dumping the plane in a forest, rusty was found unconscious by a wondering mare. He was eventually nursed back to health and became the local town of ponyvilles resident engineer. And so his story begins.
