DeviantArt tells me my header pic should be 1600x800 pixels but they only show a thin sliver of that. and they give no option to view the whole image, super annoying. anyway, here it is. actually here's the full image which I cropped down to their recommended specs. this was drawn on 18x24" newsprint around 1995, I found a pad of that stuff in my neighbours trash, with a couple of pages with some art and poetry on them but otherwise blank, and I foolishly took it home and drew on all the remaining pages, I say foolishly, because newsprint is nonarchival, not acid free paper and although it can last a long time when stored properly, is fragile shite basically useful for art you don't care about. It was liberating to work large and never not be able to draw the feet because you started too low on the page, lol, but scanning this art, 26 years later involved scanning each page in 4 to 6 passes even on my large format 11x18" scanner, then digitally stitching them together, not a fun undertaking. took a long evening to scan them all, and hours to digitally recomposite them into single images, which were massive, I scan at 600 dpi and save in TIF format, fortunately with art that is mostly pencil, when you drop the dpi to even 150, especially with art this big, it still tends to look pretty ok, so I did that saving in png format. I guess I'll post them all here eventually, probably do a bunch shortly, they're all on my patreon account, patreon.com/jamesmobius where for mere pennies a day, you'll have access to over 3,100 images by me. some do feature fan art, lots of Starfire, I mean, LOTS of Starfire, and since she's not my intellectual property, even if she is my wife, any fan art I post there, I feel I should also post somewhere else you can access it for free so I can't be sued for charging people to look at other people's copywritten characters. that's just my own code, not sure exactly 'bout the law, I think I'm good. I do see people every friggin day literally selling their versions of copywritten characters and getting away with it, but I don't want to take a chance, I have my own characters anyway I don't do much fan art anymore, though I still do some, and am open to commissions of virtually any character, can also copy other artists styles, though obviously I prefer to work in my own, and why would you pay someone to draw like someone else, just look at that someone else's art, eh? unless you really want to see a certain character looking like they were drawn by their original artist, perhaps in some compromising situation that artist wasn't allowed to draw them in I suppose, I gather that sort of thing goes on... I do try to make my Starfire look as much like Perez's style as I can, generally, because to me, then it really looks like her. I hate when people draw some character like Death from Vertigo and give her giant boobs, she's pretty flat. that's some people's fetish I know. I guess I shouldn't let it bother me. whatever man, I'll draw what you want if your money's green. hit me up.
