Description
The Hawker Typhoon was originally designed as a fighter but found its true calling as a ground-attack aircraft and it would emerge to be one of the finest ground-attack, aircraft of WW2, giving valuable close air support to Allied troops when needed. It was greatly feared by the Germans. The aircraft was never deployed to the Far East though as they were all needed in Europe as the aircraft had gained a fine record as a tank buster and the British already had an excellent close air support aircraft operating out there in the shape of the Bristol Beaufighter, called by the Japanese, Whisper Death. This channel concentrates on British military history from all ages, from land sea and air. For those with Facebook accounts check out my two channels that concentrate on global military history TALK MILITARY HISTORY GROUP and MILITARY HISTORY THROUGH THE AGES.
